Rejitha Jagesh coordinates the department of diabetic education and nutrition. She completed BSc Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics from University of Kerala and MSc Dietetics & Food Service Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University. She has qualified UGC NET for eligibility for Assistant Professor in the subject Home Science. She has undergone training in advanced diabetes therapeutic technologies CGMS and insulin pump and is involved in patient education for insulin pumps and CGMS. She is involved in general diabetes education and nutritional assessment of patients with diabetes. Her areas of special interest include carbohydrate counting for insulin pump patients, dietary manipulation for weight loss, pediatric nutrition, gestational diabetes and dietary advice in patients undergoing bariatric surgery. She is a member of Indian Dietetic Association and Nutrition Society of India. She was part of the team that organized the 51st Annual National Conference of Nutrition Society of India in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology. She works closely with diabetes nurses for insulin titration for patients on 3T program.
